Private Lake District Tours is a Windermere company that plans and runs private, bespoke days in the English Lake District for parties of one to seven, collecting guests from their hotel, including the Michelin Key hotels and country houses, with a private vehicle and guide.
One of our days run for your party alone. A day built from nothing around what drew you here. Or a whole stay, planned as one. Collected from wherever you are.

Begin a conversationFully private, from the moment we collect you. One price for your whole party of up to seven — vehicle, guide and every entrance included, with nothing added on the day. £459 for a half day, £950 for a full day. Longer stays are quoted as one, and we will advise personally before you book.
Ullswater from the steamer, Wordsworth’s valley, Beatrix Potter’s country, the great houses. The days we know best, run for your party alone — no one else in the vehicle, nothing shared — from your door and back with time to change.

Tim really looked after us and seemed to anticipate what would be best for us. Nothing was too much trouble and we never felt rushed. The van was so snug and comfortable with some special little touches that made us feel really special.

From the start they showed great care, bottles of water, jackets to borrow, opening the doors and holding seatbelts, all the little things that made getting in and out so much easier … we loved listening to her Brontë knowledge for the entire day. The lunch booking was perfect.

It was a still afternoon so the lakes were like a glass and Ullswater, Derwentwater, Rydal Water, Windermere and Grasmere were so beautiful … Tim kindly agreed to join us for a coffee when he dropped us off at Linthwaite House. Such a relaxing afternoon after the crowds in Edinburgh.
